OTTAWA, May 29, 2002 (LSN.ca) – A Health Canada study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association suggests that Canadian women are using amniocentesis to search out and destroy babies with disabilities.  The study, based on seven years of statistics, found that the number of abortions for women in the 20th to 21st week – prime time for such screening tests – was up by a 578 per cent.  Moreover the study suggests that the number of infant deaths in Canada is down, due, at least in part, to women aborting their children who are found to have developmental defects.  The study’s author says “this may just be the tip of the iceberg” since may abortions occur before the 20th week.  See the CBC coverage:  https://www.cbc.ca/stories/2002/05/28/abort020528
