TORONTO, May 15 (LSN) – Assisted-suicide convict Maurice Genereux has been given leave to appeal his sentence of two years less a day for his part in the killing of one patient and the attempted suicide of another. He is out of jail on $5,000 bail with no court date set for his appeal. The Crown, astounded by the light sentence Genereux received, is also contemplating an appeal of the decision.
