Summer Matching Campaign Launch Today

Dear LifeSiteNews Readers,

LifeSiteNews’ scheduled summer matching donation drive begins today

This campaign happens to coincide with the fact that our bank accounts are currently near empty at both LifeSiteNews US and LifeSiteNews Canada. We have enough to keep us going for about two weeks. That’s it. Everything goes towards the mission – to the maximum.

Can you help us with a financial gift? Before you do, I want to tell you that this matching campaign is operating slightly differently than what you may have seen before.

Normally, a matching donation campaign is sponsored by a large donor who has agreed to match all donations up to a maximum amount. At the end of the campaign, the charity has not only raised DOUBLE the amount they normally would have raised, but also inspired donors to make more generous contributions.

We have not been able to obtain that type of crucial foundational support so far. But, fortunately, you and all of our generous grassroots supporters, have, day-after-day, made LifeSiteNews the beacon of truth it is today and allowed its powerful influence for good to grow.

Our donors are truly incredible people for sacrificing so much for the sake of others.

Today we are once again asking our supporters to go the extra mile: we need you to not only make the initial donation, but to also challenge a few others to match your contribution. Why not? All that can happen is that they will say either “yes” or “no”. And that is fine – at least you tried.

Please don’t put potential matching donors on the spot with an aggressive or guilt approach. Just say, “I am doing this and thought you might possibly want to do the same. It is a worthy cause. I leave it up to you. Let me know if you are interested.”

Let God’s grace do the rest. You may be amazed at how some people will respond if they are respectfully and confidently asked. Usually, no one ever asks and often it is considered an honor that you would ask them to support a good cause.

So ask one or more family members, your friends, colleagues or pro-life groups to donate to this news service that saves lives, courageously balances mainstream media bias, publishes many astonishing reports, helps leaders of all kinds, and converts hearts and minds to know and defend the truth.

In our previous campaigns we set goal amounts somewhere in between what we needed and what we thought we could raise at that time. This time around we have no choice but to ask for what we need to keep LSN afloat – at least $100,000 – until our next fundraiser in September.

Yes that is our genuine need right now. For the entire year our expenses will total at least $500,000 to run this international service with journalists in four countries who produce original reports and for the technical and other costs to continuously develop and administer the LifeSiteNews website and send out the daily news emails.

We have no investments, no buildings, no luxuries – just an all out constant effort to take on the necessary actions of the moment and then trusting in providence to replace our funds for the next round of crucially needed culture changing investigations and reports.

The only time we raised $100,000 in the past in a single campaign was during our Christmas 2009 campaign. It is obviously going to take something special to reach our current goal. But we will have a far better chance if everyone agrees to try to double their donation with the matching donors method.

So, are you willing to make that little extra effort to go out of your way in the coming weeks to not only send us a donation, but to find others to match it?

We wouldn’t be asking if we truly didn’t need it. Our work involves many of the most “controversial” and “uncomfortable” topics facing the world – topics that must be dealt with. These ARE the foundational issues that underlie all the frightening developments of the current social, financial and other meltdowns.

Because our work is not the usual institutional type, our sources of funding have so far been limited to mainly grassroots pro-life and pro-family people who understand the extraordinary significance of LSN’s unique reports and the need to support this truth mission.

As we have noted before, the enemies of the culture of life are receiving billions from many of the wealthiest individuals and foundations on the planet. However, we perform seeming miracles with the relatively far less, but greatly appreciated money that we are given. Still, we know that we could achieve far, far more with greater financial support.

If you do not commit to helping us today, who will?

You don’t need me to tell you that by helping us, you are helping the most vulnerable in our society: the unborn, the confused and misled, and the foundation of society itself – the family.

You, our readers, have witnessed the incredible good that LifeSiteNews is accomplishing. Please donate today and find someone to match your gift so that this leading international news and information mission can continue.

Please make a gift for life, family and truth today.
