SANTIAGO, Chile, Apr 14 (LSN) – The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (CAFHRI) warned Friday that the Summit of the Americas, which begins this week in Chile, may be used to promote anti-life and anti-family policies. The agreements reached at the summit will be of particular importance since it is expected that the President or Prime Minister of each of the 34 American democratic countries participating will be in attendance.  Although the main issue of the conference will centre around free trade, the agenda also includes education and human rights. Last month the Chilean legislature hosted an “Inter-Parliamentary Meeting on Education in Population, Adolescents, and Reproductive Health.” The meeting, which was considered by some to be a preparatory committee meeting for the Summit, drew the usual population-  control advocates, including representatives from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).
