SWISS PRO-LIFERS FORCE REFERENDUM ON ABORTION

GENEVA, July 16, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Swiss pro-lifers have achieved a major victory in forcing a referendum on abortion. Switzerland’s socialist-led parliament approved the legalization of abortion on demand during the first three months of pregnancy on March 14. On Thursday, pro-lifers delivered a 120,000 signature petition to the Chancellor’s office with around two-thirds of the signatures believed to be those of women.
