NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland, February 23, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Despite “denial” and anger from Democrats, Judge Neil Gorsuch will be confirmed – and President Trump may get the chance to nominate another Supreme Court justice in June, Sen. Ted Cruz said at CPAC this morning.

“It is likely they will continue to oppose everything,” the Texas Republican and former presidential candidate said of the left and its current efforts in Congress. “Democrats in the Senate are filibustering everything.”

But thanks to Sen. Harry Reid's previous allowance of the “nuclear option” – meaning the requirement of only a simple majority to confirm nominees – Trump is still able to get a lot done, Cruz said.

“It is a direct result of Harry Reid that we now have the most conservative cabinet in decades,” he said. “Harry Reid, thank you for Attorney General Jeff Sessions!”

“I think we’ll have another Supreme Court vacancy this summer,” said Cruz. And when that happens, the left is going to go into a “full Armageddon meltdown.”

Of current leftist opposition to Trump, “I’ve never seen anything like this,” Cruz commented, and the left's base is “bat-crap crazy.”

Cruz predicted Democrats will swing further to the left during the Trump era, aligning themselves closer with Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren rather than Hillary Clinton.
