CLEARWATER, Florida, May 26, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Terri Schiavo’s parents were allowed a one-hour visit Sunday, after a 55-day denial by Terri’s husband Michael Schiavo. The denial followed the mysterious appearance of puncture-like marks on her arms, observed after the Schindler’s last visit March 29. The mysterious marks incited Michael Schiavo’s lawyer, George Felos, to implicate the Schindler’s.

Mary Schindler described the visit to WorldNetDaily reporter, Sarah Foster: “She laughed and she cried, and she tried so hard to talk – I think she even said ‘uh huh,’ twice. She kept following me back and forth with her eyes, and it was like she was saying ‘please, don’t leave.’”“Bob would talk to her and she’d listen, then she’d try to answer him,” Terri’s mother said.

Last week, Clearwater police cleared the Schindler’s of any wrong-doing, and, after a lengthy investigation, concluded that there was no evidence of foul play. “The Clearwater Police Department found no evidence of criminal activity, no indication of attempted criminal activity, and no harm done to Mrs. Schiavo,” in a statement released by Clearwater Police Chief Sid Klein.  The night after the police announcement, the Schindler’s drove to Park Place, hoping to be able to visit with their daughter. Upon arrival, a nurse telephoned Michael Schiavo, who maintained his refusal. It was not until one week later that their lawyer was notified of permission for a one-hour supervised appointment.  Terri has been under 24-hour police guard since October.  Judge George Greer will hear arguments Wednesday regarding the parent’s visitation rights. Greer has granted all of Michael Schiavo’s requests, including the removal of Terri’s feeding tube in October. The tube-removal order was reversed after Terri endured six days without food and water, following Florida Governor Jeb Bush and lawmakers passage of “Terri’s Law.”

Pinellas County Circuit Court Judge W. Douglas Baird ruled “Terri’s Law” unconstitutional earlier this month, allowing for the possible removal of Terri’s feeding tube yet again.
