Please help these First Responders stop the vax mandate: LifeFunder

ROCKVILLE, Maryland (LifeSiteNews) — In jurisdictions across the country, first responders who have well-founded medical, moral, and religious reasons to object to receiving the potentially harmful, not-fully-tested, abortion-tainted COVID-19 vaccine are being punished for their principled stands against government-sponsored medical tyranny.

In New York City, thousands of career firefighters, police officers, and Emergency Medical personnel (EMTs) who were placed on leave without pay last fall face termination next week simply for following their consciences.

Likewise, in Montgomery County, Maryland — a wealthy suburb bordering Washington, D.C., where every County Council member is a liberal Democrat — first responders who not long ago were hailed as frontline heroes of the pandemic now find themselves fighting to keep their jobs as the council prepares to institute a mandate requiring documentation of being “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 in order to maintain their employment.

Outspoken County Council member Hans Riemer, whose wife is a Pfizer vice president, expressed antipathy toward the unvaccinated last fall, saying in an interview that first responders and other county employees seeking medical or religious exemptions are “a bunch of Trump-loving deplorable anti-vaxxers who are making this pandemic last longer and hurt more people than it should.”

Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers and corrections officers have come together to form MoCo First Responders, LLC to mount a legal challenge to the tyrannical legislation being considered by county leaders.

“This Bill will not make anyone safer,” said a statement from the group, and “will in fact jeopardize public safety and create dangerous working conditions for an already severely understaffed public safety community by taking trained, experienced first responders off the streets.”

The statement continued:

This is a gross overreach of power that will have the opposite effect of its supposed intent, while destroying the careers and livelihoods of countless first responders.

Instead of honoring those who have been on the frontlines of the pandemic for the last 2 years, members of the County Government wish to dispense with all personnel who have questions about the safety, efficacy, necessity and morality of forced vaccinations. MoCo First Responders LLC seeks to bring a halt to this abuse of power through legal challenges brought by our council, Hartman Attorneys at Law. We stand ready to protect our community, our families, our religious freedom and our Constitutional rights no matter what may come.

Council members sought to quickly pass Expedited Bill 34-21, dubbed, “Personnel and Human Resources – COVID-19 Vaccination Required,” beginning early last fall, but have repeatedly hesitated to vote on the measure, which had been promoted as an urgent cause.

A spokesperson for the First Responders group explained in a letter to LifeSiteNews:

It has been three and half months since this measure was brought up for discussion to stem the tide of an emergency. The council constantly cites the emergent nature of this “crisis” and how this bill is a public health necessity.

If the council truly believed this and had courage in their convictions, this bill would have been voted on as soon as the County Charter allowed. But instead, the council continues to take the political temperature, watching what the District of Columbia does.

This bill is about political expediency and calculation. And if they can stick it to the non-compliant and those who disagree with their worldview, all the better. The sponsors of the bill seek to stand out amongst the crowd when the next election comes. The rest fear falling out of lockstep with the ideologues within their movement.

There is apparently no end to the intended overreach of the County Council. Proposed amendments to the bill would require any, and all, boosters in the future. Those employees not complying with perpetual boosters will also face termination.
