TORONTO, July 11, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Many Canadians and Americans are bewildered as to how we could have arrived at the situation where abortion has become legalized and common, divorce is so easy to obtain, and now marriage has been re-defined by a few judges to include same-sex couples. Even more, government and legal support for the entire judeo-Christian moral code appears to be crumbling. Part of the cause is that a view of law called positivism has increasingly become the dominant philosophy for institutional decision makers and in the courts.  Legal scholar and philosophy instructor Nicole Scheidl emphasizes that it is important for those concerned about the current controversy to understand the philosophical clash behind the conflict.

Mrs. Scheidl has written a brief Special Report for LifeSite to help its readers to understand the philosophical background to the same-sex unions court decisions.  See the Special Report at: https://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2003/jul/030711b.html
