HUNTINGTON, Conn., October 4, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Connecticut’s new law legalizing homosexual civil unions went into effect on Saturday, October 1, 2005. Stephen Bennett, Executive Director and founder of Stephen Bennett Ministries in CT, firmly stands in direct opposition to his State’s new law legalizing homosexual civil unions.
Stephen Bennett is a man who once engaged in homosexuality for 11 years with over 100 male partners. He completely left the homosexual lifestyle in 1992. Bennett is now happily married to his wife Irene of 12 years. They are the parents of two little children, a boy and a girl.
“This is a very sad day for my home State of Connecticut,” said Bennett.“While all human beings deserve to be treated with love and respect, all behaviors do NOT need to be tolerated. Just because a State legalizes something, does not make it morally right. Contrary to my State’s beliefs, homosexual behavior is far from ‘natural and normal.’”
Bennett concluded, “I have two little children who are growing up in a very different world than I and my wife did. I’ve sadly been down the path of homosexuality and lost many friends to AIDS. I saw how my homosexual lifestyle nearly killed me – and I also know the truth that complete change is completely possible. Today I am the heterosexual man I was created to be. No one is born “gay” – and frankly, there’s nothing ‘gay’ about being ‘gay.’”
