EDMONTON, Alberta, and KENTVILLE, NS, May 2, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Two thousand five hundred people gathered at a rally to protest proposed same-sex “marriage” legislation in Edmonton Sunday, while another 800 rallied on the east coast.

“Folks, we are at war for the soul of this nation,” said Edmonton organizer David Fletcher. “Thank you Paul Martin … you have managed to awaken a nation, a nation that is now filled with righteous anger. It is up to us to send a message.”

In Nova Scotia, 800 demonstrators gathered at the Kentville arena to voice their opposition to Paul Martin’s Bill C-38. Pastor David Mainse joined organizer Rev. Lewis How and others.

A May 23 rally in defence of marriage is planned for Queens Park in Toronto.
