TORONTO, August 1, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Toronto Cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic sent a letter to all Toronto parishes yesterday saying, “It is imperative that we speak publicly and clearly about what is referred to as the ‘same-sex marriage’.”  With his letter, the Cardinal also included the recent Vatican document on homosexual unions and two strong homilies on the subject, one given by Archbishop Gervais of Ottawa and the other by Fr. Thomas Lynch of St. Augustine’s Seminary.  The Cardinal introduced the documents as “useful guides and help in the preparation of your homilies”.  In addition the Cardinal forwarded a bulletin insert reading: “Marriage is a union between a man and a woman. They can, and usually do, conceive and bear children, whom they have the joy and responsibility of nurturing and educating to adulthood.  All persons deserve respect in accord with their human dignity. Trying to rename other kinds of relationships to call them `marriage,’ however, is inaccurate.”  See the Toronto Star coverage:  https://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1059689420834&call_pageid=968332188492&col=968793972154
