March 20, 2019 (LifeSiteNews)  — Nancy Pearcey has been called America’s “preeminent evangelical Protestant female intellectual.” She’s a bestselling author, speaker, and serves as a professor of Apologetics at the Houston Baptist University. Most recently, she’s the author of the groundbreaking book, “Love Thy Body” which takes a look at transgenderism from a philosophical perspective, tangibly offering solutions that provide a foundation for human rights. She also pulls in the issues of homosexuality and abortion and begins to show where our culture went wrong.

In this episode of The Van Maren Show, Pearcey and Van Maren discuss the deeply-rooted philosophical arguments underpinning the transgender movement, how it exploded in less than a decade, and the dangers it poses to our society.

“A lot of it is because they are following in the footsteps of the homosexual movement, and the homosexual movement also rests on this divided view of the human being,” Pearcey says about the transgender movement.

She spends some time discussing the coercion of speech and how that creates a totalitarian system. “You can eventually control their thoughts because you’ve robbed them of the language to express their true belief.” The totalitarian system is already in Canada and it is making its way to the States.

Pearcey also shares her belief that the transgender movement is going to continue, due to people having been trained to think like this. Their philosophical foundations have been altered, and it all started with abortion. “This divide between the body and a person, it’s informing all of these issues. And you realize this is really deep-rooted.”

“Love Thy Body” can be purchased online from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You can learn more about Nancy Pearcey, and find links to all her books and articles here.
