GLENDALE, Arizona (LifeSiteNews) — President Donald Trump said Charlie Kirk’s mission was becoming “more dangerous” because of his success. He also said that Kirk acted out of love when debating.

“I hate my opponent,” President Trump stated, contrasting himself with Kirk. Trump spoke yesterday at a memorial service for the slain CEO and founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative student group. Around 70,000 people were inside the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, while tens of thousands more reportedly were outside. Many more watched the livestream online.

“He wasn’t interested in demonizing anyone. He was interested in persuading everyone to the ideas and principles he believed were good, right, and true,” the president said. “Before each appearance he prayed these words: ‘God, use me for your will.’ He always said the same thing: ‘Use me for your will.'”

“And that is exactly what God did,” Trump said.

“The more success Charlie had – he was getting more and more successful – the more dangerous his mission became. On campuses all over the country, his call for open dialogue was met with menacing hate,” Trump said.

“There were bomb threats, pulled fire alarms, and countless rage-filled radicals who tried to shout him down. It was nasty,” the president said during his speech.

He shared he told to tell Kirk, “Charlie, this is nasty stuff you’re doing.”

“At one event police had to build barricades to protect students from an angry mob of thugs. Many of these people, by the way, are paid a lot of money to do this. They’re agitators. They’re paid agitators,” Trump said.

The event also included speeches by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Erika Kirk, Charlie’s wife.

During one particularly powerful moment, Kirk forgave her husband’s killer, saying her husband wanted to reach lost men.

“The young men who feel like they have no direction, no purpose, no faith, and no reason to live,” she said. “The men wasting their lives on distractions, and the men consumed with resentment, anger, and hate. Charlie wanted to help them.”

Charlie Kirk “wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life,” she stated.

“Our Savior said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.’ That young man … I forgive him,” Erika Kirk said. “I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it’s what Charlie would do.”

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old homosexual Utah resident, stands accused of assassinating Kirk on Sept. 10 during an event at Utah Valley University. Robinson reportedly is in a relationship with a gender-confused male who is “transitioning” to female.

New reports also suggest Robinson had an interest in a pornographic “furries” video game. “Furries” have a fetish for people dressed up as animals.

Robinson, if convicted, faces the death penalty.
