WASHINGTON, D.C., August 8, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — The State Department announced that the U.S. will withdraw from global climate change initiatives.

President Trump stood up to the world when he decided in June that it was in his country's best interest to get out of the Paris Accord. The 2015 agreement, signed by 195 nations worldwide, focused on international governance and enforcement of high-cost global warming theory fixes.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley reassured global warmists that the president is “open to re-engaging in the Paris Agreement if the United States can identify terms that are more favorable to it, its business, its workers, its people and its taxpayers.” In the meantime, the U.S. will continue to take part in discussions and negotiations regarding pollution concerns.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called Trump's decision to back out “a major disappointment” in the effort to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and to “promote global security.”

Critics say the Paris Climate Agreement would have cost American taxpayers $3 trillion and caused the loss of 6.5 million jobs. They note that the U.S. has already reduced its carbon-dioxide emissions by 12 percent since 2006.

Trump explained that the Obama-negotiated agreement put U.S. employers and employees at a “permanent disadvantage” with China, India, and other countries. He said the agreement would “punish” his country with “onerous energy restrictions” that would slow the nation's economic recovery from its recession under his predecessor.

Pro-lifers also criticized the agreement as promoting abortion in the name of “gender equality.” The U.N. already has a “Sustainable Development Goal” of “universal access to sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.”

Global warmists say “heat-trapping” pollution has caused the earth's temperature to rise. They have warned that if the earth's temperature rises more than 2 degrees Celsius the world will experience irreversible “superstorms” and fatal heat waves.

But other scientists and experts have looked at the evidence and shown how globalists manipulated data and combined that with normal fluctuations in the earth's temperature to reach alarmist conclusions. “The evidence has been falsified,” Zerohedge reported.

Trump says he is open to renegotiation. Obama had promised to cut emissions by 25 percent over 2005 levels and to give $5 billion to help other countries comply. He had already given away $1 billion.

Obama also promised to pay hefty fines if the U.S. didn't meet its goal.

Implementation of the U.S. pullout occurs in November 2019, three years after the Paris Accord began, per Obama-agreed conditions. The process of withdrawal will take a year.

If all goes as planned, the United States should be free of the climate change agreement just days after the next presidential election in November 2020.
