KAMPALA, Uganda, Oct 8 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Dr. Dan Musisi of Poly Care nursing home, Najjanankumbi, Uganda was sentenced yesterday to four years in prison for the death of a high school student during an abortion. The doctor tried to plead unsuccessfully that he committed the abortion to save the life of the teenage victim. His argument was dismissed by Court Chief Magistrate, Mr. Andrew Bashaija, who noted that Musisi did not perform a pre-abortion exam. “The accused carried out the abortion to help the girl continue with her studies, as she told him,”  Bashaija said.

The only exception allowing abortion in the country is to save the life of the mother.
