KAMPALA, October 15, 2002 (LSN.ca) – Speaking at a women’s conference Friday, the Ugandan first lady Janet Museveni called on mothers to reverse the worsening trend of social ills such as abortion, STDs and broken marriages.  “Women as mothers can reverse the worsening trend of events leading to conflicts by bringing up God fearing and morally upright children who care about the needs and well being of others as well as their country,” she said.  Museveni, called on all women to champion their primary duty of helping and guiding their children both spiritually and morally.
