GUILDFORD, England, March 20, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A UK Catholic mother of five is being investigated by police following a complaint that she deliberately referred to a biological male who believes he’s female as a “he” on social media last year. The mother says she’ll “happily” go to jail for the right to say that “people cannot change sex.”

Caroline Farrow, 44, is a well-known Catholic apologist and commentator on social issues in the United Kingdom. She appeared on television talk show “Good Morning Britain” last September to debate transgender activist Susie Green. Green took her son Jack Green, now known as “Jackie,” to Thailand for a “sex change” when he was 16. Now Susie Green has made a complaint to police that Farrow “misgendered” her now-adult child online.

Farrow revealed the police investigation via Twitter.

“Had a message from Guildford police tonight about my tweets following an appearance on GMB with Susie Green and Piers Morgan,” Farrow wrote.

“Susie Green has reported me for misgendering her daughter [sic]. I have pointed out to the police that I am a Catholic journalist/commentator and it is my religious belief that a person cannot change sex,” she continued.

Farrow has engaged in an online debate, via Twitter, for months, promoting the tweets of such women’s groups as “Fair Play for Women,” which advocates for authentic female athletes against transgender activists. Farrow also contributed an article to LifeSiteNews about police investigations of British citizens who publish their disbelief in transgender ideology.

“'We are in the middle of a national conversation about what it means to be male and what it means to be female,” Farrow tweeted.

“Nonetheless, following my appearance on National Television the CPS have decided I need to be interviewed under caution for misgendering Susie Green’s child,” she continued.

“I don’t even remember said tweets. This was in September! I have done nothing wrong, nothing illegal and will happily do jail time for my right to say that people cannot change sex.”

The allegation means that Farrow is being investigated for a potential hate crime under England’s Malicious Communications Act. The maximum penalty is 2 years in prison.

Television personality Piers Morgan reacted with shock to the news, retweeting Farrow’s tweet with the comment “WHAT!!!!”

Farrow refused to appear on the BBC this morning with Susie Green, citing both family responsibilities and the impropriety of discussing an ongoing police investigation on television.

“They rang me at 7am to appear on at 10am,” she tweeted on Tuesday morning.

“I have 5 kids and school run. I cannot discuss an ongoing case. It’s why I have declined a host of interviews. I do not know what I have done apart from ‘misgender Susie Green’s daughter [sic]’.”

Farrow added later that she was the victim of a “witch-hunt”

“This is a public witch-hunt,” she wrote.

“Whether or not I am in breach of the Malicious Communications Act or have broken the law needs to be investigated by the police & a court of law. Not the @vicderbyshire show,” she tweeted.

Susie Green did appear on the BBC show, and said she “intended” to withdraw her complaint against Farrow.

Farrow has been subjected to online and telephone harassment and abuse for years because of her Catholic beliefs.  In an interview last May, she told LifeSiteNews that the abuse was currently because of her public support for Alfie Evans and his parents.

She also said she believed that many of her critics resent a Catholic woman appearing on mainstream television and in mainstream newspapers.

“They can’t bear it because I’m reasonable,” she said. “They’re online painting me as a nasty bigot.”

LifeSiteNews reached out to Farrow yesterday. Although she declined to give an interview at this time, she indicated that she would speak to us next week.
