RALEIGH, North Carolina, June 16, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The undercover investigator who spearheaded a nationwide sting operation against illegal practices by Planned Parenthood abortion clinics has applauded the North Carolina General Assembly for overriding a veto of a budget that defunds the abortion organization.
Lila Rose, president of the pro-life youth organization Live Action, praised North Carolina for choosing to “step up to the plate and ensure that no taxpayer dollars go towards funding the biggest abortion business in America, Planned Parenthood.”
Over the past four years, Rose and her Live Action team have released undercover videos revealing Planned Parenthood clinics across the country covering up the sexual abuse of children and violating mandatory reporting laws for statutory rape. In many of the tapes, Rose personally posed as a 14-year-old girl who received the advice of clinic counselors on how to lie about her age, her 31-year-old “boyfriend’s” age, or how to cross state lines to avoid local parental involvement laws.
“This corrupt organization is responsible for killing over 332,000 defenseless unborn children each year. Planned Parenthood manipulates women to choose abortion and routinely aids and abets the sexual exploitation and trafficking of young girls,” said Rose, 21.
The vote makes North Carolina the third state to pass a budget barring funding for Planned Parenthood this year, behind Kansas and Indiana. Gov. Perdue, a professed pro-choice politician, cited cuts to education as the primary reason for her veto.
In addition, New Jersey governor Chris Christie line-item vetoed the state’s allotment for family planning funding, although Planned Parenthood continues to receive federal Title X funds and Medicaid reimbursements there.
This week, Planned Parenthood in Tennessee is seeing the end of federal funding on a county-by-county basis as Shelby County, the final remaining district in the state to fund the abortion giant, is reportedly preparing to end its contract with Planned Parenthood. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/last-tennessee-county-readies-to-kick-planned-parenthood-funding
In February, Live Action released new undercover footage showing employees at 7 Planned Parenthood clinics in 4 states aiding and abetting the commercial sex trafficking of underage girls. The videos prompted the House of Representatives to vote twice to defund Planned Parenthood of all federal taxpayer subsidies.
