Comments from the Halton Pro-Life Bus – May 13, 2005.

The Pro- Life March was unbelievably moving for all of us. I was uncertain of what to expect at this March so I approached it with openness. It was shocking to see how many people, young and old, who support Pro-Life and wish to do something about it. Reflecting back on the experience, I feel I have been inspired to spread the word to those around me who do not have the knowledge that was taught to us during this trip. God was truly among us during this journey.-Lisa D.

I thought it was a good opportunity to publicly defend my faith. Seeing so many people present to protest the murders of innocent children was overwhelming yet inspiring. It’s an experience I will always remember.—Peter T.

This was such a great experience. I can here being Pro-Life, but not really knowing the facts. Now on my way home I know I will spread the word and gain even more support for the march in many years to come. Yeah pro-life!-Brittany M.

When first joining the others from different schools I was scared and had a great feeling of boredom. However, after meeting people whose beliefs are as strong as mine, my mind changed. I did not realize how many people would actually be at the protest, yet alone people my age and younger. It was wonderful to hear people with strong feelings towards pro-life. It was emotional and at times shocking as I had never actually seen an aborted baby or knew everything I learnt on this trip. It was absolutely wonderful/inspirational experience. I encourage all youths to go.-Monika B.

Very good experience. It was a life changing experience participating in the march and seeing the pictures of the aborted babies.-Zack H.

It helped me understand the topic better. Overall it was an eye-opening experience. -Kyle G.

I went to the Walk for Life ignorant, and therefore relatively unconcerned about abortions, but after listening to the speakers speak with such fervour and conviction I now find it impossible to sit by and watch as thousands of innocent babies are massacred every year.-Liam T.

March 4 Life 2005… a great experience in my life. This is my 3rd year participating in the March 4 Life and I hope to continue on next year after university. This is a chance to overcome society’s stereotype of abortion and to battle the government’s decision to legalize it in the first place. This is an opportunity to speak up and fight for life-to give humans a chance to live and see outside the womb.-Maya Z.

Being it my first time to participate in this March for Life, I felt that it was a great experience! It was able to open and show me a whole other side of life. I came to this trip with only knowing very little and I leave with much that I know I can use for the future.-Nicole B.

This was my third year participating in the March for Life, and I feel each year it gets better! The past two years I came to the March with not very much knowledge or conviction for this issue. However, this year I really opened up and felt truly inspired by the thousands of people at the March as well as the amazing speakers at the conference. I really enjoyed this tri, and I leave with so much more knowledge and passion for this important issue.-Melissa V.

This was my first year participating In March for Life 2005. This experience inspired me to not only be a ‘pro-life’ person, but to also talk to people and share my views and knowledge on this topic. I greatly enjoyed this event and can’t wait to go again next year.-Anne-Marie D.

I enjoyed it.—Stephanie

This was also my first time on the March for Life. I think it was a great experience and very inspiring! I’m excited to come back for next years March for Life.-Calli S.

I’ve been to the March for Life before, but never with Halton Pro-Life-and the experience was awesome. We were given a feeling of unity in protesting together for a good cause, together in a bus packed with teens. I’ll miss everyone.-Gemma L.

I loved it!-Monica P

This was my first time on the march and it was very enjoyable. You will definitely see me next year! My only complaint was the food. It made me sick.-Unknown

Well, as my 2nd year here, I must say that I enjoyed the previous one the most. Although a lot of thought and effort went into planning this year’s conference, last year’s allowed us to ‘seem’ a little more free in a structured schedule. As well, the food was much better last year, as well as the actual conferences and conference sitting area. The speakers were really good this year and I enjoyed finding out one of them were related to me. This year, the girls wore more suitable attire as well compared to last year. The March itself was amazing as usual and the turnout was great! I can’t wait till next year!-Keila M.

I had an amazing time. This is my third time going on the March. I really enjoyed them. This year is different because I’m riding with different people and it’s fun because I’ve met new people. I would like to do this again next year.-Sue-Anne W.

The March for Life 2005 was awesome! Third time around it was very successful and life-giving. The sun was shining, the air was fresh. The youth was a very important inspiration! I’ll be back next year. Lorenzo Campanelli – High School Chaplain

Praised Be Jesus and Mary-now more than ever! This was certainly a very Blessed experience for myself once again this year, now my third time on the March for Life to Ottawa. I came back again this year with a renewed hope which ultimately has been strengthened by the hearts of Faith and Joy of our increasing numbers of young people. We have all become witnesses to this Blessed Hope, which burns with courage for a very bright future for Canada. The darkness will end and this light of hope has flared up without question!-Brother Christopher Weber, S.F.O.

The conference was inspiring because it reinforced a key point that us as teenagers can influence and make a difference in this world. Another pressing issue was that every small thing we do counts and that we shouldn’t just come to the march and be pro-life for one day but we should also be pro-life every day, moment, hour, minute, second, etc. This also reminds that my calling in life is to go and serve the Lord and if that means standing up for the injustice that is around me. I also shouldn’t do this in violent ways that harmful to anyone because you can be just by changing the direction of to whom the pain is being inflicted on. This conference was just a wake call and a simple blessing in one. So much so that I have joined the campaign coalition and although I’m already active in volunteer work I will make extra room just for this. Sir, do you think that we should have a pro-life group at Leger. I think that would be cool. – Thalia R. (16)

These past few days have been awesome!! The march was great, getting everyone to sing “Life is the only choice,” with all the girls from HNM. The conference was great fun! Before the conference, I never actually realized how unfair and cruel people can be. In Ottawa I learned many new things and became more aware.—- Elane S. (15)

It was a remarkable experience; something that you cannot understand without some action. Given this opportunity it gave me emotions that cannot be explained. When there is a will there is a way; so please take action and help this cause. Be Prolife!—- Christine G. (16)

There is nothing better than knowing that you have made a difference. I encourage everyone to get out, regardless of your age and gender. Make your voice, and the voice of the 2 million missing children, heard. I know that I have made a difference. – Sabrina S. (18)

This was a nice experience for me, it was educational but at the same time very fun. I am very honoured to come to this trip.—- Archana A. (16)

March for Life 2005 was simply amazing! The March in itself was a profound experience. To sing and walk to defend the lives of the unborn and to know that you will be heard is truly inspiring. The next day at the Youth Conference, there were many great speakers. They helped me realize that I can make a difference, that we are the future and we can make a better society. I will never forget March for Life 2005. – Marian D. (14)

It was amazing to see so many young people standing up for the truth. It shows there is hope for society. – Heather Nail (18)

Coming into Ottawa for the March for Life experience as a young teen, I can say that I expected to gain different viewpoints and to be more educated in my pro-life beliefs. But the unforgettable march itself and the inspirational speakers at the Youth Conference not only did that but also renewed and solidified my values. I will definitely be back next year!!—- Jesilou T. (16)

The March for Life in Ottawa was a great experience. Before I was afraid to voice my beliefs, but after seeing that I’m not alone, I’m not afraid anymore. I enjoyed the march, the singing, the conference, and most of all, meeting new people. I’ll be sure to come back in 2006. Thanks to everyone who made this experience special. Anne-Marie Z. (16)

I was at school one day when my chaplain told me about March for Life, and once I head what it was for I knew right then and there that I was going to go to Ottawa, with an open mind. When we arrived in Ottawa I couldn’t believe how many people were there. The march was great, it was hard to look at the pictures of the dead babies, but then I knew who I was really marching for! The conference was great. I was touched by the stories everyone had to share. It really opened my eyes to a whole different reality. I thank you for opening my eyes and my heart to be pro-life in my life. I plan to come back next year and encourage my friends to come and see what people do to their babies. As I travel back to Mississauga I say goodbye to Ottawa, but I remember to keep pro-life in my life. So God Bless and keep up the good work. – Charlene B. (15)

I found that the March for Life was an amazing experience and was a very informative and touching event. I found out exactly what happens during an abortion, and how disgusting the process is. I learned how precious a life is, and that a human is considered a person from the point of conception, not from the point of birth. While walking with thousands of people, one can truly recognize how powerful the youth can be. No politician, or person on the street can ignore what we have portrayed in our lifestyles, or shouted on the street. I am so happy that I was able to take part in such a phenomenal event. The unborn need people to stand up for them, protect them, and to help them survive. They are as much a human being as I am, because they are alive.—Cassie R. (16)
