NEW YORK, May 14, 2002 (LSN.ca) – UNICEF-funded manuals advising children about sexual activities with other minors, homosexuals and animals is being distributed at the United Nations Child Summit.  The Washington Times reports that pro-life lobbyists handed out copies of the Spanish-language books, originally targeted at Latin American teens, in an effort to persuade Latin American delegates to support a U.S. proposal to remove ambiguous language that has been used by UN agencies in the past to promote abortion.  One manual exposes the pro-choice agenda by explicitly revealing that: “Reproductive health includes the following components: Counseling on sexuality, pregnancy, methods of contraception, abortion, infertility, infections and diseases.”  Another UNICEF book for mothers and teens provides the following guidance: “Situations in which you can obtain sexual pleasure: 1. Masturbation. 2. Sexual relations with a partner – whether heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. 3. A sexual response that is directed toward inanimate objects, animals, minors, non-consenting persons.”  A UNICEF spokesman admitted UN funding had been used, but said “fewer than a thousand” were printed and claimed the book had already been withdrawn.  Abortion is not mentioned directly in the ongoing draft child-summit document, but UNICEF and UNFPA have routinely interpreted the ambiguous phrase “reproductive health services” to include abortion, the Times reports.
