TORONTO, September 23, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Every Fall as United Way commences its fundraising activities, part of its campaign is to attempt to present itself as an agency which does not fund abortions. Case in point – today’s North Platte Telegraph has a United Way spokesman calling the fact that United Way supports abortion providing agencies a “myth”.  (https://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=12984865&BRD=377&PAG=461&dept_id=531813&rfi=6 )  But that is simply not true.  United Way supports Planned Parenthood one of the world’s foremost abortion promoting and performing agencies.  Websites for the United Way chapters in cities such as New York and Toronto demonstrate clearly that the agency funds Planned Parenthood of New York City and Planned Parenthood of Toronto respectively.  Moreover, the New York United Way chapter recommends visitors to its website to both the National Abortion Rights Action League New York office and the office of the National Abortion Federation.  The recommendations can be found through the United Way CARES program.  See Planned Parenthood listed as a donor recipient at United Way NYC and Toronto:  https://www.unitedwaytoronto.com/who_we_help/agency-list/agency_list.html https://www.unitedwaynyc.org/?id=39&pg=hc   See the United Way NYC CARES program:  https://www.unitedwaynyc.org/?id=65
