March 28, 2014 (The Cardinal Newman Society) – University of Dayton recently hosted a lecturer who once called Pope Francis “evil” and labeled pro-lifers “terrorists.”  According to the university’s website, activist and writer Timothy Jacob Wise was a speaker at the 2014 Consciousness Rising conference.

Unfortunately, Wise has taken many vitriolic stances to the Catholic Church and its teachings.

Shortly after Pope Francis became pope, Wise reportedly tweeted “The New Pope: evil, like the last one”

Wise castigated Bishop Thomas Paprocki’s decision to perform an exorcism over the state’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage. Wise tweeted that event as “more reason why the official Church should be shunned.”

On his website, Wise also called pro-lifers “terrorists, plain and simple.”

He even indicated on his website that parents don’t have the right to raise their children into a traditional religion and those who do are guilty of “child abuse by any other name.”

Dayton urged students to attend the event and “let your mind be open to everything you will discover.”
