VICTORIA, BC, Dec 10 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The University of Victoria newspaper, the Martlet reported last month that the university’s student society (UVSS) revoked the endorsement of the pro-life students group Youth Protecting Youth (YPY).

The UVSS based their decision on a poster campaign by YPY with posters reading, “With no laws protecting the unborn in Canada,  abortions are available at any time during the nine months of a woman’s pregnancy.”

One of the UVSS members excused the discriminatory actions of the student government noting that UVSS official policy mandates belief in “freedom of choice in the matter of abortion.”

Endorsement by the UVSS means that a group receives grants from a fund contributed to by all students.

Both a pro-abortion group and a pro-homosexual group receive student funds. Pro-life students are forced to support pro-abortion groups and are themselves denied representation for their money.
