Wisconsin’s abortion rate has dropped by 1,500 abortions from 1997 to 1998 according to recent statistics; the decrease has been attributed to the mandatory 24 hours waiting period after first requesting an abortion.  (Star Tribune)

The Denver Post reports that 13 Planned Parenthood abortuaries in Colorado are losing state funding which was to be $319,000 this year. The administration of Governor Bill Owens noted that the state funding was in violation of a voter-passed constitutional amendment from 1984 banning it.
