US bishops in danger of hell for complicity in sex abuse crisis: Catholic activist
BALTIMORE, November 14, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — Catholics today are living through what Our Lady of Fatima warned about and U.S. bishops are in danger of going to hell for being complicit in the rampant sex abuse crisis afflicting the Church, a Catholic activist said Tuesday.
At the “Silence Stops Now” rally yesterday outside the U.S. bishops’ gathering in Baltimore, Michael Hichborn delivered a fiery speech recounting some of Our Lady of Fatima’s warnings.
Instructing Catholics to do penance and make reparation for the sins committed by U.S. clergy, Hichborn, the president of the Lepanto Institute, recounted how at Fatima in 1917, Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco were taught by an angel to pray reparation for the “outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences” committed against Jesus Christ.
“We need to adopt and make that prayer our own every day,” Hichborn said. “We need to make reparation” for the bishops. “If we don’t make expiation for them, we’re on the same path they are!”
Hichborn’s impassioned talk provided a detailed look at how U.S. bishops have been committing outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences against Christ for the last 60 years.
Hichborn said U.S. bishops “don’t give a damn” about the “affront to God” that the licentious, homosexual network inside the Church causes.
Hichborn also said the strange death of New Jersey priest Fr. Joseph Moreno in 2012 just before he was about to expose corrupt bishops and civil authorities is proof that “men in politics” are “in bed” with and covering up for “the filth that has flooded our entire Church.”
Hichborn continued his no-holds-barred speech by reminding rally attendees that the Masses said by the over 300 priests named in the explosive Pennsylvania report were “sacrilege” if the sins they committed remained un-repented.
He also said that every time homosexual couples and pro-abortion Catholic politicians are given Holy Communion, more sacrilege occurs.
“The sacrileges are incalculable!” he exclaimed. “Every single one of those sacrileges needs reparation.”
The Mystical Body of Christ has a mortal wound, he continued. “We cannot be healed unless our shepherds are the ones leading us. We need healing. Your Excellencies, where are you?”
Hichborn also told the rally that U.S. bishops “are the ones that were given the authority by Christ” to lead their flock, but that “they have forgotten who they are.”
“They have no idea who they are! They’re a bunch of bureaucrats who think that their only job is to administer over a corporate entity and then decide where money’s going to go. But that’s not going to save my soul! It’s not going to save theirs either. And that’s what we need to focus on. Every single one of those men are in grave peril! They’re in grave peril because they are not paying attention to what it means to be a shepherd. When you get the cardinal’s hat and the cardinal’s cloak it is red because it is a sign of their willingness to die for the Church. And I guarantee you if those men were holed up and ISIS was up there and torturing them, I can count on one hand how many of them would not apostatize.”
Hichborn concluded by arguing that the sin of indifference is “rampant” and “probably the worst” of the three sins mentioned by the angel at Fatima because those who are indifferent see the horror going on but “just walk by.”
“It is up to us to win the graces necessary so that those bishops can have the strength and the fortitude...to do what they have to do,” he said.
“Fatima is about now. We are going through what Our Lady was trying to tell us was going on even then, and this is the end result. We have to make penance, we have to make acts of reparation, because if we don’t, we will surely join them on the same path. God love you.”
