Catholic News Service reported that Bishop Thomas V. Daily of Brooklyn has raised the specter of “black genocide” in pointing out to his predominantly black congregation, that 57 percent of black babies are aborted in the diocese. These figures do not hold for Hispanics or whites, leading the bishop to point to the disproportionate impact of abortion on the black community. “Almost 8,000 more black babies were killed than were delivered in the Brooklyn Diocese in 1997,” Bishop Daily said. The Michigan Attorney General’s office indicated that the opinion by Federal District Judge Arthur Tarnow, which permanently blocked enforcement of Michigan’s Infant Protection Act (banning partial birth abortion), will go unchallenged.

An Ocala, Fla., abortionist and abortion clinic owner was sentenced to 46 months in prison and fined $25,000 in federal court Thursday for trying to get Marion County to pay him as much as $100 million for not opening a clinic there.
