U.S. District Judge Richard Arcara has ruled that temporary 15 ft. no-protest zones around abortuaries in Buffalo are more permanent than temporary. The zones were established as a temporary measure in 1999 as pro-lifers prepared to converge on Buffalo for “Operation Save America.”

A federal appeals court on Wednesday agreed that a New Jersey law banning partial-birth abortion is unconstitutional. The finding by a three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upholds the ruling of a federal judge in Trenton who struck down the law in 1998.

Abortion supporters are outraged that St. Joseph Hospital, a Catholic facility in Denver, Colo., said Monday that it would follow Church teaching and no longer allow women to undergo tubal ligations. Hospital administrators announced the decision after discussions with Archbishop Charles Chaput and St. Joseph physicians. “Sterilization isn’t something that should be done in a Catholic hospital,” Greg Kail, a spokesperson for the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver, said, noting that the move aligns St. Joseph with the position of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops – reported in AP/Colorado Springs Gazette yesterday.
