Pro-Life Infonet reports that a national Islamic advocacy group has sharply condemned the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that a state law banning partial-birth abortions is unconstitutional. The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said the ruling amounts to legal approval for infanticide, an act specifically prohibited by Islam.

In a 54-41 vote the U.S. Senate approved an amendment to a Labour, and Education Appropriations bill Friday that would stop school-based health clinics from giving out abortifacient “emergency contraception” to minors.

An estimated two dozen same-sex couples obtained civil union licenses from city and town clerks around Vermont Saturday, in some cases only minutes after the law took effect at midnight.
