The New York Post reported Friday that the death of a woman who had just undergone an abortion at Brooklyn’s Ambulatory Surgery Center is under investigation by city and state officials. (Pro-Life E-News)
The (London) Times reports that New York State legislators are set to change state laws in order to establish the rights of the foetus from conception to birth and to make the unwanted killing of the foetus a crime that carries a murder charge. This change comes in the wake of a horrific case in which Stephen Pack, a New York doctor, and husband with two children, forcefully attacked his pregnant mistress, Joy Schepis, and injected her with an abortion-inducing drug.
Family Life services, an adoption agency that is part of Liberty Godparent Foundation has, over the past few years, maintained a massive list of Christian couples waiting to adopt children. It has launched ‘Operation Adoption’ which will place ads seeking out teenagers in ‘crisis pregnancies’. Those who respond will be able to reside at friendly crisis pregnancy centers, nation-wide, and, after giving birth they would be given the option to put their children up for adoption to Christian parents.
The annual Convention of Southern Baptists, to be held in Orlando, Fla., from June 13-14, is set to add stronger language to their statement of faith regarding racism, abortion, homosexuality, and the role of women in the church. Homosexual activists have stated that they will hold a protest outside the Convention. Inside, Southern Baptists will staunchly defend the traditional definition of family. Dr. Paige Patterson, outgoing president of the SBC, will have a message to protestors: The homosexual movement “is detrimental to the home and to the basic fabric of society and the church; nevertheless, we love you as Jesus loves you and we offer you a better way, in Christ.”
Roman Catholic leaders, including Cardinal Francis George of Chicago Archdiocese are trying to persuade the AMA (American Medical Association) to reject a measure that would force even Catholic hospitals to provide certain contraceptive and ‘reproductive’ procedures. The proposal is being considered by AMA’s annual meeting, being held from Sunday to Thursday of this week.
