Sister Jeannine Gramick and the Rev. Robert Nugent who ran New Ways Ministry a mission to homosexuals which contradicted the teachings of the Catholic Church (by accepting homosexual sex) were ordered not to speak publicly on their work this week. Sr. Gramick said she would not obey the Vatican order and Fr. Nugent is considering his response.
Democratic Congressman Loretta Sanchez is being criticized by conservatives for scheduling a fundraiser at the Playboy mansion near Los Angeles.
On Friday a federal judge refused to issue an injunction against a new Florida law that bans partial-birth abortions following a lawsuit challenging the law. US District Judge Joan Lenard said she wanted to hear from both sides in the lawsuit before issuing an emergency restraining order. A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
