Reuters reports that Dr. Allan Zarkin, the abortionist who carved his initials into a patient’s abdomen, will not be given any jail time. He was given a five year probation and ordered “not practice medicine anywhere.” 

American Family News reports that the ACLU is suing the Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children because the Christian agency fired a social worker who was an admitted lesbian. Alicia Pedreira was fired in October 1998 because her supervisors said her admitted homosexuality was contrary to the agency’s core values.

STOPP reports that Planned Parenthood has filed suit in Colorado over a parental notification bill that defines pregnancy as beginning when an egg is fertilized. Planned Parenthood wants the state to amend that bill to define pregnancy as beginning at implantation. The lawsuit is aimed at allowing the distribution and use of abortifacient “emergency contraception.” 

Ohio’s motto, “With God, all things are possible,” was declared unconstitutional Tuesday by a federal appeals court that said the phrase amounts to a government endorsement of Christianity. The state said it will challenge the ruling.
