FoxNews reported yesterday that in the US “women can deduct the costs of an abortion from their taxes, as long as the abortion was a legal one”. 

The Associated Press reports that the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League has endorsed Al Gore for president of the United States, this follows reports last week that Gore was the favorite of the Communist Chinese government. 

The Lancaster New Era reported yesterday that Judge Paul K. Allison of Lancaster reversed an April 1999 decision by the city Zoning Hearing Board, which allowed Planned Parenthood of the Susquehanna Valley to perform abortions at its South Lime Street clinic. Planned Parenthood has promised an appeal. 

Sister Jeannine Gramick, the Catholic nun recently disciplined by the Vatican for her faulty views on homosexuality has balked the Vatican censure which forbade her from among other things speaking publicly on homosexuality.  Thanks to the censure, she says, “I actually have a wider audience now.” 

North America Today reports that last week, efforts by Arizona state Senator Ed Cirillo to pass legislation that would do away with the 80-year-old statutes outlawing cohabitation of unmarried couples, adultery and homosexual behaviour were thwarted by social conservatives who argued that keeping the laws on the books makes a statement about community morals.
