SICILY, Dec 13 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The case of a mentally handicapped 13-year-old pregnant girl taken from her parents and put in the custody of a doctor who says she should have an abortion against her will prompted a strong condemnation by the Vatican paper, Osservatore Romano.

“The horrors of Nazi racism are back after 50 years. In this tragic affair, human reasoning has reached the heights of folly and iniquity,” said the paper.

The London Telegraph reports today that young mother, Laura, has not yet been forced to undergo the abortion procedure. The doctor is claiming that giving birth would negatively affect the girl’s fragile mental health. Critics note that a forced abortion would be far more detrimental.
