VATICAN, July 10, 2002 (LSN.ca) – Today the Vatican Information Service published a declaration by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith which warns seven Catholic women who claim to have received priestly ordination from the hands of the founder of a schismatic community. The declaration notes that the women are required to acknowledge that their “ordination” was phony and “state their repentance and ask forgiveness for the scandal caused to the faithful” before July 22 if they do not wish to incur excommunication.

The move comes as a severe blow to radical feminist groups within the church which have been working for years to force their agenda on the church.  Such groups have advocated for changing the church’s teaching on contraception, abortion and homosexuality.  The full declaration of the Congregation follows:  See the Congregation’s declaration from the Vatican website at:  https://www.vatican.va/cgi-bin/w3-msql/news_services/bulletin/news/11639.html?index=11639&lang=en
