January 24, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – According to Capitol Hill pro-life giant Rep. Chris Smith, the 2012 election is “the most important election…ever,” from a pro-life perspective.
In an interview with LifeSiteNews, the famed pro-life legislator said that whoever the Republican nominee is, pro-life advocates must unite behind him to ensure that Obama does not get a second term.
“If Obama gets a second term, Obama’s abortion extremism will get significantly worse during those four years,” Smith said, nothing that during his first term the president has already done “unmitigated damage.”
“Obamacare, the efforts to promote abortion both here and abroad, the funding for Planned Parenthood, the packing of the courts with people like Justice Kagan, who is a vociferously pro-abortion individual, the embedding of pro-abortionists throughout the entirety of government…it will go from bad to demonstrably worse,” said Smith. “So we need to unite.”
“I know there’s candidate disappointment at times. The perfect is the enemy of the good I would argue. Everyone needs to realize in this movement, whoever the nominee is we need to rally around that person and work as we’ve never worked before to achieve a pro-life victory.”
