SAIGON, Jan 10, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Asia Pulse news service reported Monday that the Vietnamese government will spend $17 million this year on a population control program that is designed to reduce the birth rate by at least 0.05%. The report the program will include ensuring access to contraception and abortion. It notes that the birth rate declined by 0.046% in 2000.
