OLYMPIA, Washington (LifeSiteNews) – The board of health in liberal Washington state has rejected a COVID vaccine mandate for K-12 students.

“The Washington State Board of Health (Board) voted to adopt the [advisory group’s] recommendation to not recommend adding COVID-19 vaccine to Washington’s list of required immunizations for child care and school entry at its April 13 virtual public meeting,” the government entity announced.

Its technical advisory group members were split on whether to require a jab for all students in K-12 schools. “Members expressed doubt about making a recommendation to the Board and stated concerns about unintended consequences of doing so,” a summary of the opponents stated. “Members stated concerns about a lack of good data and not being comfortable with children possibly losing time away from school.”

“Members who voted to recommend adding COVID-19 vaccine expressed the TAG had an opportunity to help eradicate the virus,” the summary stated. “Other members stated that the vaccine ought to be added once it is fully licensed by the FDA and other members expressed the vaccine should be added to the school entry list in the future.”

The decision mirrors the guidance given by Florida’s top medical officer.

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo recommended in March that healthy children not take the experimental COVID shots.

“We’re kind of scraping at the bottom of the barrel, particularly with healthy kids, in terms of actually being able to quantify with any accuracy and any confidence the even potential of benefit,” Ladapo said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that all children ages five and up, regardless of health, receive the abortion-tainted jabs, despite the low risk that children face from COVID. Furthermore, reports have documented hundreds of thousands of adverse events after the shots, including over 20,000 deaths.

study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in January reported that Pfizer’s COVID-19 shot is associated with a 133-times greater risk of heart inflammation for teenage boys.
