BERWYN HEIGHTS, Maryland, November 8, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – Lauren Handy, a Washington, D.C. area pro-life activist and founder of Mercy Missions, is asking for prayers after she was arrested today for peacefully protesting on public property.

Handy live-streamed her arrest on Facebook.

The video shows her explaining to officers that she is standing on public property and has verified this information, which is public record.

The officers said they didn't have sufficient proof that Handy was on public property. The officers said they will contact utility companies in order to verify Handy's assertion.

Handy was protesting at Amir Gohari's Metropolitan Family Planning abortion facility. Gohari has a history of harming women and failing to keep his facilities sanitary.

LifeSiteNews will post updates as the story develops and asks that readers pray for Lauren. Through her activism, she has saved over 400 babies.
