News

We’ve got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that our website has become increasingly sluggish recently, so that some of you have experienced difficulty even accessing our articles.

The good news is that the source of the problem is our server cannot keep up with the staggering amount of traffic our breaking stories are bringing to the website lately.

Like this shocking story of a Canadian judge who allowed a woman who had strangled her newborn to walk free from the courthouse, arguing that Canadians “sympathize” with the woman, because abortion is legal!

These are the types of breaking stories LifeSiteNews has built its reputation upon and that you, our readers, depend on us for so you can take action!

But like all problems, this one comes with a price tag.  Though we have been frantically implementing interim measures to take stress off the server, ultimately the only solution is an upgrade to a far more efficient server, which we hope to have in place this weekend.

This cost of this upgrade is not included in our necessary Fall Campaign goal, which is a bare minimum to maintain our basic operating costs each year.  Help us meet this goal!

While we are concerned with the unforeseen costs that this major upgrade requires, the good news is that we are growing at a rate faster than we even imagined.  Our site is being trafficked this week at the highest rate in the history of LifeSiteNews.

The server upgrade is not the only necessary and urgent improvement that we are working on.  Many facets of our website and emailing system need upgrading and changes to ensure that ALL LifeSiteNews readers have quick, easy and reliable access to our daily reports.

For instance, we are currently working on implementing a mobile version of LifeSiteNews. The increasing number of people who access our site from their smart phones or tablets will be able to more easily navigate and read our articles.

Every day, more and more people are coming to LifeSiteNews, because who else is going to give them breaking stories like these?:

  • The recent breaking story of Bishop Zurek of the Amarillo Diocese recalling Fr. Pavone back to the diocese and suspending his Priests for Life ministry.
  • The story of a pro-life heroine who was arrested and sentenced to jail time for peacefully protesting at an abortion facility in Toronto.

We know that you want more stories like these from LifeSiteNews, and that you share our goal of reaching may more millions of people with the truth about life, family faith and culture. But in order to reach this goal, we need your help.

Consider making a recurring donation during our Fall Campaign.
