(LifeSiteNews) — The pervasiveness of radical transgender ideology in American culture has seemingly made one basic question impossible to answer: “What is a woman?”
Daily Wire podcaster and author Matt Walsh has criss-crossed the globe seeking an answer to just that question for a new documentary set to be released in May.
“I have traveled all over the world for the past year asking one simple question,” said Walsh in a teaser trailer for the documentary released Thursday: “What is a woman?”
In the teaser clip, Walsh, who became a best-selling author last year for his satirical children’s book blasting the transgender movement, poses the simple question to diverse groups of people including gender “experts,” elected officials, doctors, activists, and ordinary people around the world.
“I’ve been asking everybody this, and almost nobody can answer it,” Walsh says in the clip.
I have been all over the globe on a secret mission to finally get an answer to the question of our generation.
I managed to get into a room with some of the leading “experts” in the world.

The Catholic conservative commentator and homeschooling father of four joined Fox News host Jesse Watters on Thursday night to promote the new film.
“What was the most shocking answer that you encountered when you asked a basic question?” Watters asked.
“The shocking answer is the non-answer,” Walsh said. “When you realize that … this is what they talk about all of the time, they’ve made it their life’s calling, they’ve also convinced, somehow, society to take these ideas seriously, and then when you start asking questions about it … you realize, there’s nothing going on here, there’s nothing underneath the surface.”
Walsh explained that “gender ideology,” while pervasive, “collapses under the slightest bit of pressure.”
This isn’t the first time Walsh has snagged headlines by publicly tackling radicalism with his signature dry humor and creative strategies.
In January, Walsh appeared on an episode of “Dr. Phil” to defend the moral and conservative perspective on transgenderism, stating that sex is a biological reality and arguing that individuals can’t require others to partake in the “theatrical production” of their “gender identity.”
In viral video clips, Walsh pushed the “transgender” activists on the show’s panel to explain what a woman is, to which he received only vague replies including “Womanhood looks different for everybody” and “Womanhood is … something that I cannot define.”

In another headline-grabbing exploit last year, Walsh had to get creative to attend a Loudoun County School Board meeting where he planned to give a speech blasting school mask mandates and ideological indoctrination. A last-minute rule change by the school board requiring all speakers to be Virginia residents didn’t keep the Tennessean from participating. Instead, Walsh rented a basement apartment in Virginia for a dollar, drawing the ire of the left and the support of like-minded Virginia parents who greeted him with signs reading, “Welcome home, Matt.”
Walsh’s upcoming documentary is slated to be released in May to Daily Wire members only.
