WASHINGTON, D.C., April 15, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The pro-life leaders behind Friday’s wildly successful Gosnell “Tweetfest,” are hoping to ride the wave of momentum with a second social media event this Wednesday.

But this time, said Bryan Kemper, one of the three main organizers of the event, they’re encouraging pro-lifers to blanket all social media sites with info about Gosnell, and not just Twitter.

“We’re thinking about calling it something like a Tweet/Instragram/Tumblr/Facebook fest,” he said.

On Friday tens of thousands of pro-lifers took to Twitter, where they posted nearly 170,000 tweets about abortionist Kermit Gosnell in the space of 12 hours.

The deluge of social media attention resulted in a spate of coverage from mainstream media networks, who until Friday had almost uniformly ignored the trial of the notorious abortionist.

In several cases, journalists for mainstream media outlets even issued “mea culpas,” admitting that they should have covered the story earlier.

Even organizers of Friday’s pro-life social media event were completely unprepared for the response. It “was so much bigger than we ever thought,” said Kemper. “It was huge.”

Kemper credited the fact that so many diverse pro-life groups and individuals united together to make the event a success. As well, he said, frustration with the media’s silence on the trial had reached a boiling point.

“But what we want to do is to lay out a plan to continue with the momentum,” he said.

While Friday’s event focused on exposing the media blackout, Wednesday’s social media event will focus on exposing who Kermit Gosnell is.

The goal, said Kemper is “to just show the world what a nightmare this guy was and this clinic was.”

As part of the effort, today the organizers of the Tweetfest Round 2 launched a new website at WhoIsGosnell.com.

The website includes background info about Gosnell, including a link to the Grand Jury report, which includes over 250 pages of information and testimony about the horrific “abortion” practices and conditions in Gosnell's “House of Horrors” clinic.

Gosnell stands accused of murdering seven newborn infants by “snipping” their spinal cords. However, his staff have testified that “hundreds” of living babies, many of them post-viability, were killed in this way by Gosnell and other workers at the clinic.

Organizers have also launched a Facebook “event” page, where people can invite their friends to join the Tweetfest. The page includes a number of prepared “tweets” that users can simply cut and paste into their Twitter accounts.

“We are going to make ‘new media’ work on behalf of Kermit Gosnell's innocent, helpless victims,” say the organizers on the FB page.

“Abortion brutally kills preborn children and exploits women. The Gosnell case busts open the lie of ‘safe legal & rare’ abortion.”
