This summer, award winning pro-life film producer Jason Jones of “Bella” fame recently gave LifeSite one of the highest compliments we have ever received.

Speaking to a packed house of nearly two hundred for LifeSite’s 20th Anniversary Gala outside Washington D.C., Jones said he remembers being “so excited” when he first learned 20 years ago that an online news site had started up to exclusively cover news from a pro-life and pro-family perspective.

He then went on to praise LifeSite for staying true to the mission.

I truly believe that you have become the most important lay apostolate in the world…You haven’t bowed to the dictatorship of the spirit of the age,” he said.

“If I were to describe LifeSiteNews in three words it would be spirited, faithful, and loving,” he added.

We were floored.

Jones nailed how we’ve been operating LifeSite for 20 years. Faithfulness to our mission has gone a long way in helping us to become the largest and most trusted pro-life news outlet on the planet.

Pro-lifers twenty years ago would literally cringe every time mainstream media covered them and their cause. They were misrepresented, mocked, and belittled. Pro-lifers had largely abandoned hope that the news media would ever cover them fairly and accurately.

But all that changed in 1997 when LifeSite came onto the scene.

Our mandate was simply to be a pro-life news outlet run by pro-lifers for the pro-life and related pro-family movements that would faithfully report the news on what we knew were the most important issues in the world.

We saw the urgent need to provide social conservatives with a fair, honest, and powerful platform so that their news and stories could be amplified to the entire world.

You wouldn’t believe how many life and family leaders from around the world, just like Jason Jones, go out of their way to tell us how they’ve come to rely on our reporting for its exceptional accuracy, fairness, and timeliness.

A common remark we hear from those in the trenches is that our website is the first place they go to for news on a daily basis.

And you, our faithful pro-life and pro-family readers, have been with us every step of the way. Day after day, week after week, month after month, and even year after year, you have read our reports to become educated and informed about the issues that matter most.

And I know that together, we are all making a difference because of this.

Some of the biggest stories we covered this year where we faithfully tell the news that’s important to our movement include:

  • Showcasing President Trump’s pro-life initiatives, including reinstating the Mexico City Policy and sending VP Mike Pence to speak at the March for Life.
  • Providing in-depth coverage of Vatican developments as they relate to life and family issues. That has been our most challenging work in 20 years. Accuracy has been paramount. We have had to endure constant harsh criticisms for being so honest and thorough in that reporting which most others simply ignored, avoided or distorted.
  • Highlighting the extreme pro-abortion ideology behind the Washington, anti-Trump Women’s March.
  • Exclusively covering U.S. pro-life leaders awarding Cardinal Raymond Burke for defending “faith, life, and family” despite persecutions.
  • Warning parents about Beauty and the Beast and Disney’s general pro-homosexual agenda.
  • Faithfully covering David Daleiden as he battles in court for justice against Planned Parenthood.
  • Exclusively covering the Benham brothers revealing the secret to ending abortion and gay “marriage” in America.

The truth is, these stories have made an impact because they’ve been read and shared by you, our faithful readers.

We can write reports day and night, but if nobody reads them and shares them, then it becomes little more than an exercise in futility.

It’s really you who have made LifeSite the #1 most-read pro-life website on the Internet. It’s really you who have given LifeSite a punch far beyond our weight.

And let me tell you, we’re grateful to you for believing in what we do.

One thing that makes our outlet unique is that not only do we depend on you to read and share our stories, but we depend on your generous support to keep us going so that we can continue to report all the news that matters most.

Running this powerful platform that allows us to report on and to amplify life-and-family news globally takes a dedicated staff (we have over 30) a lot of technology (computers, audio-visual equipment), and a whole host of ongoing monthly expenses (website development, web-servers, numerous technical services).

People are often amazed at how much we accomplish with relatively so little.

We need your support to keep doing what we do best – serving social conservatives throughout the world with the in-depth, quality information that they need.

You’ve been faithful to us in reading and sharing our reports. Now we’re asking you to take that extra step and be faithful to us by keeping us afloat with whatever donation you can, even if it’s just $10 or $15.

Raising more than $125,000 during the two remaining days of our campaign seems like an impossible order, but you, our readers, have rarely let us down.

Twenty years ago pro-lifers had largely abandoned hope that any news outlet would ever cover them fairly and accurately.

But thanks to LifeSite, that isn’t the case anymore. With your help, we’ll make sure it stays that way.
