TORONTO, Sept 29 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A world campaign to promote abortifacient morning after pills or “emergency contraception” is underway by the World Health Organization. The Regional Leader-Post reported today that the publicity effort is being headed up in Canada by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists with the happy collusion of Planned Parenthood, the Toronto Public Health Department and numerous other pro-abortion groups. Also participating are the direct beneficiaries, the marketers of the abortifacient drugs in Canada – Shire Pharmaceuticals and Paladin Labs. The paper notes that Toronto Public Health put together a promotional pamphlet over the summer called The Little Black Book on sexuality.

Expect the marketing to be purposefully deceptive and attacking pro-lifers. Already Dr. Andre Lalonde, head of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, was quoted in the paper as saying that pro-lifers’ charge that the pills cause abortions is “absolutely false.” The claim is made under the arbitrary and unscientific redefinition of the beginning of life as starting at implantation, rather than the more correct time of fertilization of the ovum.
