(LifeSiteNews) — Children and youth around the world are being asked to pray the Rosary next Monday, May 8.

In a recent video, Father Chris Alar, MIC, of Stockbridge, MA, called upon parents and teachers “to help spiritually unite all of our children and youth as they answer the urgent call of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to pray for peace in our families and our countries and around the world.”

“The two most important weapons that we have in this fight in addition to Divine Mercy are the Rosary and the entrustment to the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” Alar said. “Our Lady has always turned to the prayers of children.”

“When the world is in turmoil as it is now, she needs the help of their prayers and trust. That’s what makes being childlike so important,” he continued. “She needs them to become missionaries of her Immaculate Heart.”

He stressed the special role of children, saying, “They are helpful; so please help us to engage all of our children and youth in our parishes, in our schools and our families by praying the Rosary and entrusting their lives to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”

Alar recently spoke on the John-Henry Westen Show, stressing the role of the Divine Mercy chaplet, the importance of trusting in God’s mercy, and the consequences of despair – including suicide, euthanasia, and abortion.

The Rosary crusade is being organized by the Catholic group Children of the Eucharist, Young Missionaries of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The organization “is an educational and evangelistic program of the International World Apostolate of Fatima, a public association of the faithful of pontifical right, member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.” They aim to promote the message of Our Lady of Fatima, especially though Eucharistic Adoration.

The prayer crusade will be live streamed on Monday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. Central Time. The link to the live stream can be found here

Rosary processions have become increasingly popular in recent years, as they often do during times of turmoil and uncertainty. In a recent interview with LifeSiteNews, Stefan Makovnik, an eyewitness to the last days of the socialist regime in Czechoslovakia, revealed that the fall of communism began with the public recitation of the Rosary by candlelight.

Irish Catholics are set to hold 500 public Rosary rallies for Our Lady of Fatima’s upcoming feast on May 13. The rallies aim to “honor the requests made by Our Lady of Fatima.”
