July 7, 2016 (American Life League) — The Centers for Disease Control defines the spreading of Zika in this way: “Zika virus spreads to people primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus). People can also get Zika through sex with an infected man, and the virus can also be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus.”

Congress has been addressing emergency measures to deal with this virus because of the serious threat it creates for preborn babies — children who if affected by the virus prior to birth may suffer brain damage.

This is a serious matter, of course, but the virus that should be truly concerning to every American is a condition known as moral rot. This is a condition brought about by a failure to recognize the dignity of every human being from his beginning until his death. This regression in the cultural psyche leads far too many into the pits of hell, either by example or because of ignorance.

If you can, just imagine Nevada’s senator Harry Reid making a public statement saying that a huge segment of this nation’s population would have no place to turn to get help — including assistance to defend from the Zika virus — if Planned Parenthood does not get additional funding! He said that “women need Planned Parenthood.”

Excuse me, but Planned Parenthood has waged a full blown war on women, including their preborn babies, and it occurs to me that no woman needs Planned Parenthood for anything unless she desires deception and misguidance regarding her health and the life of her preborn baby.

Reid’s statement smells like a very bad case of moral rot to me.

During a press conference in which Reid was joined by Planned Parenthood’s executive vice president Dawn Laguens, the PP executive said, “We are the front line of defense when it comes to battling Zika.”

Interesting. And all along we thought that the federal government’s priority was to control the mosquito carrying that virus and to develop a vaccine, not to make preborn children carried by moms who might have been exposed to the virus extinct. Shame on us.

Of course, moral rot has a permanent home at Planned Parenthood, so nothing should really shock us about any statement made by its minions. It receives millions of our tax dollars annually because of its life-destroying business enterprise.

It makes me think that perhaps it is not clear to the majority of people in our great nation that, among other things, Planned Parenthood is well known for coercing women to abort their babies.

But don’t take my word for it. Listen to Abby Johnson, a former executive director with Planned Parenthood. Abby’ heartfelt words come from her blog entitled Confessions of a Former Planned Parenthood Director:

I am sorry. I am sorry that we did not tell you the truth about abortion. I am sorry that you were deceived by people who you thought you could trust. I am sorry that we didn’t listen to you when you cried in our offices. I’m sorry that you were treated like a number and not the beautiful person that you are. I’m sorry for the pain you felt. I’m sorry for any regret that you felt or continue to feel because of our dishonesty.

Abby Johnson is an extraordinary example of the healing power of truth — a power that can cure moral rot if only enough of those who have espoused it in the past come into the light and join with us in our quest to eradicate the lies, the hypocrisy, and the pure evil spewed by Planned Parenthood and its allies.

Moral rot is a virus that does have a cure. That cure is honesty!
