China attempts to make brutal one child policy more palatable with new slogans
March 8, 2012 (LiveActionNews.org) - China has undertaken a project to make their “slogans” for the One Child Policy sound better to the ear. Well, at least that’s their goal. According to the BBC News, China’s Communist Party conducted research on the slogans found around China concerning the policy.
Research by China’s National Population and Family Planning Commission, published in the People’s Daily, concluded that a quarter of slogans posted in furtherance of its policies had been crude and harsh in the past. It described some as spine-chilling.
Among the examples it cited were, “Kill all your family if you don’t follow the rule” and, “If you escape (sterilisation), we’ll hunt you down; if you want to hang yourself, we’ll give you the rope”.
The research said milder expressions should be used to “avoid offending the public and stoking social tensions”.
Of course, the Chinese media—which is the government’s media—blamed officials in local areas for the unpalatable slogans. They also ensured that everyone knows the One Child Policy will go nowhere. According to those in power in China, the policy is there to stay.
Similar to Planned Parenthood in the U.S., the Chinese government wants to promote the murder of children by making it sound more interesting, advisable, and good. They try to excuse away their promotion of death with upbeat words. Neither one of these abortion giants have any desire to stop abortion. They simply want to not sound like the bad guy.
The international community should reject China’s thinly veiled attempt at making their One Child Policy sound “upbeat”. The One Child Policy is forced abortion, plain and simple. It flies in the face of life and choice. Adding words on to their slogans like “caring” and “please” do not erase the fact that they are still requiring parents to abort “out-of-plan” children or pay a fine many times a wealthy person’s salary.
The Chinese government openly admits that their slogans are propaganda. They do not hide the fact that they are trying to force their own horrible views on each and every citizen of China.
Apparently, the government has recognized that its One Child Policy has resulted in a gendercide against girls (though they would probably never admit the great proportions of this gendercide). But they make a moot attempt at encouraging parents to keep their girls.
The one-child policy has also been blamed for causing a gender imbalance, with families eager to have male children and selectively aborting girls.
The People’s Daily said future propaganda would address this issue, and suggested the slogan: “Caring for the girl means caring for the future of the nation.”
Regardless of what the Chinese government says, the gendercide against girls is rooted in the One Child Policy. Until they end this human rights violation, girls will continue to be singled out for death, and forced abortion will have no end in sight.
