(Euthanasia Prevention Coalition) — I have fabulous news.

On September 20, Delaware Governor John Carney vetoed Assisted Suicide Bill HB 140 (Link to the Statement by Governor Carney).

You may remember that Bill HB 140 went through a roller coaster of votes before it passed by one vote on June 25. On June 25 we published this statement:

The Delaware Senate passed assisted suicide Bill HB 140 on June 25 by an 11 to 10 vote during a second vote on the bill.

On June 20 we reported that the Delaware Senate defeated the assisted suicide Bill HB 140 by a 9 to 9 vote. I thanked the many Delaware citizens who worked to defeat the bill.

Thank you to the many people who committed their time and energy to oppose assisted suicide Bill HB 140. You will now need to get ready for the 2025 legislative session. In 2025, John Carney will not be the Governor of Delaware and the assisting suicide lobby will propose a similar bill to legalize assisted suicide.

Thank you to everyone who contacted Governor Carney urging him to veto the bill. Thank you to everyone who works so hard, donates to the work, and does what they can to oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide.
