(LifeSiteNews) – Do you want to end the tragedy of child sacrifice and abortion in your land? What would you say if we told you this has already happened twice in history? A new prayer crusade is being launched, on the feast of the Annunciation, with the express aim of bringing an end to abortion.
Since 1967, the scourge of mass abortion has been attempting to destroy the fabric of our world. We need to bring back the souls of the nations through a Crusade of 2 Pillars that will crush the head of the serpent.
On May 30, 1862, Don Bosco had a dream of 2 pillars. One was surmounted by a statue of the Immaculate Virgin at whose feet a large inscription read: “Auxilium Christianorum” (‘Help of Christians’). The other, far loftier and sturdier, supported a Host of proportionate size, and bore beneath it the inscription: “Salus credentium” (‘Salvation of believers’). These are the pillars of safety and salvation for the Church.
What about the first Pillar – The most Blessed Sacrament?
A prayer crusade took place in Poland in 1980-1993 which reduced the number of abortions from hundreds of thousands a year in 1970 to under 800 in 1993. A certain Antoni Zieba, an engineer at the University of Technology in Building Mechanics Institute in Cracow, spent over 30 years in work of defending life of unborn children.
He travelled to Vienna in 1979 and visited the Catholic Church of Christ the King, where he saw a picture of aborted babies in late stages in the medical bin. What a terrible shock it was! Then another blow to his conscience came when he saw a brochure, left by an anonymous person on his desk at work, indicating the then current abortion rate in Poland: 1 million babies killed in the womb every single year! Antoni immediately enlisted the help of a friend, Adam Kisiel, in his pro-life endeavours.
Yet Communism and censorship reigned in Poland. It was illegal to print more than 10 copies of any document without permission of special office. Doctors and nurses were losing their jobs if they refused to participate in abortion, and those who spoke against abortion were persecuted. The 1st question pregnant women were asked by doctors was: Are you giving birth or will you terminate the pregnancy? The Communist regime propagated abortion and discussion about it in public sphere was prohibited.
Mr. Antoni Zieba visited Pope John Paul II 63 times testifying that Pope prayed for protection of life all the time. Antoni and Adam, both inspired by the Pope’s words decided to have a prayer campaign. They established 2 aims:
- To awaken conscience of the Polish nation to the fact that life of every person from conception to natural death is sacred.
- To annul a pro-abortion bill that was imposed during the communist terror in 1958 and replace it with a pro-life bill which would protect the life of every conceived child, without exceptions.
In the dark of Communism with only a few lay people connected to the Institute Theology of Family and Metropolitan Curia in Cracow, the Prayer Crusade started on 12th of October 1980. In the first 3 months of the prayer 1,000 people prayed and committed to attend a Holy Mass every day and receive Body of Christ for intentions of Prayer Crusade.
Afterwards the plan of the prayer crusade changed as people were asked to pray to end abortion by saying a decade of the Rosary every day, along with attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion once a month during the week for period of one year. 100,000 people committed to it.
After 12 years of prayer God took pity on Polish nation. Abortion rates dropped to under 800 in 1993. On 7th of January 1993, Polish Parliament annulled the barbaric, pro-abortion bill and adopted a pro-life bill.
What about the second Pillar – The Blessed Virgin Mary?
On the 9th of December 1531, Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared at Tepeyac hill, in Mexico City. She came to give, show and exalt “The Only One True God through whom we live” and to crush the head of the serpent of “Child Sacrifice.”
The Mexican natives or Aztecs lived in a very structured and organised manner, and their religious practices were very disturbing and depraved. Prisoners of war would be offered in pagan sacrifice to pagan idols, their chests cut open and their hearts ripped out, in order to “feed” and “appease” the anger of their false gods, else their life cycle was in danger. For the Aztecs truly believed the sun may not rise the following day if they did not offer it human blood.
How was such a sophisticated society so evil? Sin obscures the consciousness of the human person, leading them to moral blindness and multiple more errors. Just like in our present age, although we may argue that we live in highly advanced/developed societies, we can’t ignore the many lives that have been lost through abortion, euthanasia and war crimes.
The Aztec Empire was incredibly advanced, complex and well organized. So, how did such a sophisticated society become so evil? Sin obscures the consciousness of the human person, leading to moral blindness and multiple errors. The Aztecs, in their blindness, were convinced to be doing the right thing. They genuinely wanted to please their ‘gods’ in order to praise them for the gift of life, sustenance, and success in war against their enemies. The same is true of our present age, for, although we may argue that we live in highly developed societies, we cannot ignore the innumerable lives that have been lost through abortion, euthanasia and war crimes.
It was the Lady who ended the Aztec child sacrifice. By 1541, just 10 years after her appearance to Juan Diego, a historian of the time wrote that 9 million people in Mexico had converted to Catholicism! In a non-bloody way, the people of an entire country were converted. They left behind their old gods and discovered the truth of the Incarnation.
What is the solution NOW to end abortion?
We do not have to reinvent the wheel. This is a “Spiritual Battle.” We have the solution already – the 2 Pillars of Jesus and Mary.
The start of our Crusade will be simple and strong. Mary’s Crusade for Life is beginning this Feast of the Annunciation with the first pillar – Jesus Christ in the Most Blessed Sacrament. The proposal is thus to receive Holy Communion for the intentions of the Crusade. Each person can add this intention to their normal intentions each and every time they receive Jesus Christ in Holy Communion.
The hope is to extend this Crusade Campaign consecrated to Mary, to 4 Geographical Areas – the U.K., under the mantle of Our Lady of Walsingham: Ireland under the mantle of Our Lady of Knock: as well as North, South and Central America under the mantle of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
What are the intentions?
For each area there will be a general intention for all geographical areas and a particular intention.
The general intention: To awaken the soul of our nation to recognise that the life of every human being is SACRED from conception to natural death, and for the institution of a new just law to protect every conceived child in the womb.
The particular intentions for each are are below:
- The particular intention in the U.K: To end Do it yourself abortion “pills by post.”
- The particular intention in Ireland: To re-install the 8th
- The particular intention in North America: For the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade.
- The particular intention in for Mexico/Argentina/Canada/France is to be decided.
How can I become a ‘Crusader for Life’?
- Register on the new website.
- Learn the intentions of the Crusade.
- Add the intention each time you receive Jesus Christ.
- Try to receive Holy Communion as a “Child” consecrated to Mary, so that your communion will be “Magnified” 100-fold.
- Tell your friends to be a “Crusader for Mary” to end abortion.
When can we start offering our Holy Communions?
“Mary’s Crusade for Life” will launch on the Solemnity of the Annunciation 25th March 2022. There will be a counter on the Website for each Country to track the number of Crusaders. Why not download the Poster on the website also for your Parish Notice Board or to encourage your friends to be Crusaders.
The Lord loved us so much that He chose to become one of us, to take on our humanity so completely that he “became flesh,” as utterly weak and dependent as any human infant is. God became “like us in all things except sin” at the moment of His conception in Mary’s womb, not at some later time. The Feast of the Annunciation is a celebration of the actual Incarnation of Jesus Christ and life Itself. Mary says yes to “the way, the truth and the life,” Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
Holy Communion is a great gift from Jesus, a priceless treasure. One Holy Communion, with the right dispositions says Father Faber, is enough to make a saint.
Fr. Faber says: “No one can tell how much grace lies in a single Sacrament. In a single communion lies all grace; for in it is the Author and Fountain of all grace….” How simple yet all-powerful it is to receive the Lord of Hosts daily with the heart of His Mother.
Join this pro-life crusade to become a “Crusader for Mary,” and you can move the mountain of abortion into oblivion.
We end with the prayer of Pius X, June 3, 1905 on the Pious Custom of Daily Holy Communion:
O sweetest Jesus, Thou who camest into the world to give all souls the life of Thy grace, and who, to preserve and nourish it in them, hast willed to be at one the daily cure of their daily infirmities and their daily sustenance; we humbly beseech Thee, by Thy Heart all on fire with love for us, to pour forth upon them all Thy Divine Spirit, so that those who are unhappy in mortal sin, may turn to Thee and regain the life of grace which they have lost, and those who, through Thy gift, are already living this Divine life, may draw near daily, when they can, to Thy sacred table, whence, by means of daily Communion, they may receive daily the antidote of their daily venial sins, and may every day foster within themselves the life of grace; and being thus ever more and more purified, may come at last to the possession of that eternal life which is happiness with thee. Amen.
Mary’s Crusade for LIFE is a campaign organized by the Marian Franciscans. The Marian Franciscans would like to thank Our Lady for the original inspiration of this Holy Initiative given to a great Pro-Life Polish Warrior Justyna Pasek.
