(LifeSiteNews) – A pinch of incense. A tiny vial of clear, seemingly innocent liquid.  Just a pinch of incense.

Just “a little poke.”

Our predecessors were given an ultimatum throughout the early centuries of Christianity: either do as you are told – burn incense to worship the Roman Emperor – or suffer the consequences (which was often imprisonment, death and martyrdom). Countless were courageous enough to stand their ground, stay strong, and be true to the Faith, despite serious repercussions.

Just a pinch. Just a poke.

What has made us so soft and flocculent as a society – indeed, as a Catholic Christian community within this society – to just cave to this so-called “vaccine”? ( A rhetorical question, I know – hmmm – mainstream media distortion perhaps?). To emphatically state it is of utmost importance to obey our “superiors” without question? To summarily snap under the pressure of the slightest possibility that we may be deprived of various conveniences and luxuries of our decadent society?

“I want to travel, to go on the cruise I was looking forward to.”

“I want to get into concerts, sports games, casinos and theatres.”

“I want to freely dine in any restaurant I choose.”

“I just want to cross the border!” (trust me, I do, living only 30 minutes from Michigan and having a friend living literally on the other side of the water).

Just a pinch, a poke….

There are, no doubt, a myriad of more honourable reasons why so many are feeling coerced and pressured into taking this experimental drug. But, we absolutely must remember that coersion is NOT consent. As St. Thomas Aquinas states:

“Human law (read: mandate) is law only by virtue of its accordance with right reason; and thus it is manifest that it flows from eternal law. And in so far as it deviates from right reason it is called an unjust law; in such case it is no law at all, but rather a species of violence.” Summa Theologiae, Ia-IIae, q. xciii, art. 3, ad 2m.

It is truly heartbreaking to hear these stories:

“I must keep my job to provide for my young, growing family.”

“I must have access to the LTC home where my elderly mother/father/loved one resides.”

“My children won’t let me see my grandchildren unless I take it.”

“If I don’t get “vaccinated,” my extended family threatens they will not allow us to visit.”

Just a pinch.

Will those of us who resist compliance in this matter be maligned EVEN in our so-called “Christian” communities? Barred from receiving the Sacraments, being treated as second class citizens, perhaps even barred from entering the House of God?

There are already widespread rumblings of young men and women, who are discerning religious life or the priesthood, being harassed about taking this experimental jab. They will NOT be admitted to certain communities, seminaries etc. unless they succumb to the “shot”: Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmittsburg, Maryland; St. John’s Seminary in Boston, MA; even St. Peter’s Seminary in London, ON Canada.

I received the following email from Vocations Director at St. Peter’s, Fr. Danny Santos, on Aug. 11th at 6:29 p.m:

“I think you’re asking about the COVID vaccination … correct me if I am wrong. The Bishop’s requirement is that all current Seminarians in order to be able to continue studies and all new seminarians must be vaccinated.

To assist you in understanding the logic and reasoning behind this I am going to include from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops the explanation of the moral imperative and the purpose of the common good, which we as Catholics need to keep at the forefront of our thoughts.”

Just a poke….

How far we have come, where now our spiritual “leaders” are blatantly, shamelessly politicizing every aspect of our spiritual lives. Just blindly obey, just do it for the “common good,” they say.

That is utter insanity, when the evidence is clear. All of the current experimental jabs have connections with aborted fetal tissue, either in the process of testing the products or within the products themselves.  (See the Charlotte Lozier Institute for example – lozierinstitute.org ) Anyone who attempts to downplay or muddy these facts is making a grave error. It’s really simple.

Just a pinch, just a poke….

I have stated many times to both family and friends that even IF this experimental gene therapy was pristine, being free from all connections to aborted fetal tissue (or any other immoral connections), I would still argue that we must avoid it at all costs for these two reasons:

A. We have no clue, no idea what the short or long term effects could be on our health or the health of future generations (for example, fertility issues). This is already being widely discussed by honest health professionals around the globe.

B. Submitting to and complying with the current governments in power (state, provincial, federal, global – W.H.O. etc) is absolutely ludicrous when they have had a very poor track record for the last 60 – 100 years, having pushed abortion, euthanasia, free access to contraception, government paid sterilization, and the list goes on.

I put forth that in good conscience (and our conscience MUST be properly formed or it will be deformed) we absolutely cannot and should not blindly obey these questionable protocols for the supposed “health of our society.”

Just a little pinch, oh, just a little poke….

As Christians, we are obligated to do our homework, to seek Truth always, and encourage one another, especially our young people, to do the same. We must never come to a point in our lives where we convince ourselves that we are completely catechized. These are matters of good vs evil, right vs wrong, life vs death, and the battle is raging.

Pray that we may discern what is True and moral in the Eternal Law. Pray that we may have the courage to challenge the faith of our family and friends constructively, no matter how arduous life gets. No matter the pressures to give in to a pinch or a poke.

May we “Stay strong, keep the faith,” as a good friend always tells me.
